ツ Hang on to the headboard (was Reflection)…

After the Terry and Toby incident, I had my Dad take the bunk beds apart. I felt trapped up there being a little kid, and having to go through a Vampire to get to the floor isn’t something I didn’t want to go through again. Not to mention I sprained my ankle jumping off the top bunk. The room now was laid out like this:

Norwick Road2

In this configuration, I could peer over the footboard of my bed and look down the hall into the living room. I could also partially see into my sister’s room and into the bathroom across the hall from her room. The cool thing about the bathroom view is that if someone was standing in front of the mirror, I could see their reflection from my bed. Only cool because it gave me something to do (trying to see the inside of the bathroom) when I couldn’t get to sleep.

One night I had been laying in bed, not able to sleep, I heard someone in the bathroom (we left the light on in there as a night light – economical I know, but the was the 70’s). They turned on the water in the sink and then I heard them brushing their teeth. This was strange to me because everybody had already gone to bed. I crept down the footboard and looked down the hallway to see who it was in the mirror.

I was in shock to see myself brushing my teeth in the mirror. Almost immediately, I was standing in the bathroom with a toothbrush in my mouth looking in the mirror watching myself in my bed looking at me.

Slowly, the me in the bed dissolved away. Spooky, but a cool experience.
